Box 542, Prince Rupert, BC  V8J 3R5

History

The PRCC was formed in 1983 by Michael Coyne to bring together amateurs with a common interest in photography. The first field trip that summer was to Stewart, BC. Initially, outings were mostly family groups. Since that time, it has evolved into a club which meets regularly the first Thursday of each month (except in August).

Activities

The club organizes field trips, monthly photo contests, video shows, and workshops. Some photographic equipment is available for members' use. Each year the club hosts one major show at the Museum of Northern B.C. (usually in the month of June), giving members opportunity to display their work. Frequently the community has asked for assistance at various events.

The club is open to everyone from novices to semi-professionals. There is a mutual sharing of ideas and techniques which benefit everyone.

Several members have gone onto careers in photography. The club has maintained a membership of about 15-20 people in spite of the transitory nature of the population of Prince Rupert.

CAPA membership is maintained by the club. Members have competed in some of CAPA's competitions. This keeps us in touch with other clubs as well.

If you would like more information or would like to join the camera club, please contact Bruce Rempel at (250) 627-8426. We also have a club e-mail account: PrintsRupertCameraClub@gmail.com
