Library Board Meeting
Present: Nick Adey (NA), Chris Armstrong (CA), Chelsea Keays (CK), Stephanie Lysyk (SL), Brendan Turner (BT), Dale White (DW), Joe Zelwietro (JZ, Chief Librarian)

Meeting commenced at 7:01 pm.
- Introduction of Kate Lyon, the Library Board’s newest trustee.
- Motion to accept the Consent Agenda by BT, seconded by SL; Passed
- Trustees request an addition to Discussion Agenda
- Vaccine Clinic at the Library
- Review of trustees meeting with City Manager and Mayor
- Discussion about Strategic Plan and suggested changes to the Plan.
Motion by CA, seconded by NA, that the Library Board accept the Plan with the following edits/additions: - Add Wap Liitsx House of Reading
- Elimination of the single word ‘old’ in appropriate place
- Add traditional territory acknowledgement
- Discussion about upcoming union negotiations and Chief Librarian contract renewal
- BT is the new PRL representative to the NWLF Board
- Discussion about the progression of the Children’s Non-Fiction Refresh. Library staff are excited and working hard in completing this project. It has been longer than expected due to COVID-19 caused supply chain disruptions. Patrons are interested as well.
- Discussion about the slow repair of building damages, due to COVID-19 caused supply chain disruptions as well.
- Discussion about recent increase of service hours, specifically our Sunday openings. Board is in favour of opening on Thursday evenings as well.
- Discussion about the recent (February 10-12) library hosting of Northern Health (NH) Vaccine Clinic. NH staff were here for 3 days and 105 residents, including many children, received vaccinations and NH staff considered it successful and had no complaints for us.
- Discussion about the meeting with the Library trustees (CA, NA, CK, CdR and JZ) and City Manager. and Mayor regarding the future of Library.
