Children's Programs

FREE programs for children at the Prince Rupert Public Library! Join us for preschool and afterschool activities designed to encourage a love of reading, creativity, and learning.

Programs are seasonal and availability changes throughout the year. The programs listed here may not currently be running. For current schedules, registration dates, and availability, always check our current Children's Programs schedule.
Registration: Registration is required for preschool programs. Register in person at the library or call 250-627-1345. Drop-in programs do not require registration.

Preschool Programs

Babytime Rhymes

30 minutes of rhymes and bounces, while bonding and socializing with your wee one.

  • Ages: Newborns to 24 month-olds
  • With: Parent or guardian
  • Registration required

Tales for Twos

30 minutes of stories, rhymes, and play.

  • Ages: 24–36 month-olds
  • With: Parent or guardian
  • Registration required

Story Hour

This hour-long program introduces stories and activities based on a variety of themes. Parents do not have to stay for class, but it is recommended that they remain in the library during the program.

  • Ages: 3–5 year olds
  • Registration required

Afterschool Program

Create & Make

Our FREE afterschool program is full of crafts, games, and LEGOs. Come build, create, and have fun with us!

  • For: Grade 1 and up — younger children welcome with an adult
  • Drop-in — no registration required
