Home Services

The Prince Rupert Public Library offers home delivery and curbside pick-up for patrons who need help getting their library materials. All library resources are available through these services, including books, music, videos, and magazines.

Home Delivery

Home delivery is available to anyone who, due to illness, injury, or permanent disability, is unable to visit the library on their own.

All library resources are available to you. We will deliver books, music, videos, or magazines that you request directly to your home.

To sign up or learn more: Call us at 250-627-1345 during library hours, or send us an email.

Curbside Pick-up

Don't want to come inside? We'll have your items ready at the door. Here's how it works:

  1. Place holds using the library catalogue, by phone at 250-627-1345, or by email at circulation@princerupertlibrary.ca.
  2. Wait for our call. Staff will confirm your order and library card number. Any outstanding fines or charges on your account must be under $5.00 to proceed.
  3. Arrange a pick-up time. Curbside pick-up is available Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays, 1–5 p.m.
  4. Bring your library card when you arrive. The card must be the same one used to place the holds.

All returns must go in the blue Book Bin at the bottom of the ramp — not at the front door.

Children's Grab Bag Service: Not sure what to pick? Call or email us and ask for a selection of children's books chosen by our staff. For example: “5 picture books” or “5 books on camping and 5 non-fiction about dinosaurs.” We'll do our best to fill your request. Contact us at circulation@princerupertlibrary.ca or 250-627-1345.
