42. Use Your Imagination Treasure Box by Anonymous Donor

Many generous people donate their books to the library.  The books come in by hand, in plastic bags, cardboard boxes, file boxes and plastic totes.  Last week we received this treasure box full of books.  The donor didn't want his box back, so with a little elbow grease and a touch of paint we cleaned it up for the auction.  So go ahead use your imagination – there are soooo many possibilities for this box. Have fun with it!  We chose the book The Treasure Chest by Dominique Falda to accompany our treasure chest.

39. Scrap Quilt and Pillow by Trish Banigham

This cuddly crib-size quilt and pillow have a cute teddy bear's picnic theme.  Trish tells us the pattern is totally made up in order to use what she had on hand, so it truly is one of a kind!  This set took Trish 20 hours to create and $40.00 in materials. We paired it with The Teddy Bears' Picnic by Prue Theobalds.

38. Basket of Goodies by Devlin Fernandes

This basket includes Wanda's Nova Scotia Gingersnaps (the soft and chewy kind), Chocolate Toffee Cookies, Home made Granola (full of nuts, dried fruit and energizing goodness), roasted Peach Chutney with Okanagan Peaches.  Devlin will be happy to provide a full ingredient list but products do contain nuts, gluten and dairy.  Inspired by Ann-Marie MacDonald's Fall on Your Knees and The Smitten Kitchen Book by Deb Perelman.

29. Little Red's Hooded Scarf, Basket of Goodies and Story Book by Beth Dimond

The next time your Little Red Riding Hood ventures out to Grandma's house, she'll be well prepared!  She can stay warm and cozy in her new hooded scarf, while delivering this basket of fresh baked goodies.  When she get's to Grandma's Little Red and Grandma can read the original story of Little Red Riding Hood.  The perfect end to the perfect visit.

28. Smoked Salmon Batera Sushi, With Smoked Sockeye, Avocado, Cucumber, Wasabi Mayonnaise by Avi Sternberg

This sushi item was inspired by my experience and training in a speciality sushi shop in Osaka, Japan. Every morning I would make 6-8 servings. This sushi is very popular for picnics and eating on the bullet train. This recipe and be found in my soon to be released book: Itamae: My life in front of the cutting board (ee ta ma eh).

24. One Dozen Apple Galettes by Leslie Rowlands

“We brought home the apples from the Okanagan, and the buttery pastry makes them delicate.  Just take them out of the freezer and warm them up in the oven.  Leslie was inspired by Martha Stewart's New Pies and Tarts.

08. A Bundle of Hand-dyed Quilting Fabric by Jane Wilde

Jane created this beautiful bundle of hand-dyed quilting fabric and suggests it would be suitable for immediate sewing or gifting. She was inspired by the books Quilts Made Modern by Weeks Ringle.

44. 5 Handmade Note Cards – Each Different by Lauren Williams

Lauren says, “I love snail mail, so I send short notes, postcards, etc. to friends and family pretty often.  I thought a novel, in fact all literature is made up of words, including when we send a few words to a friend.  The library staff couldn't agree more!  We chose the book Card Crafting by Gillian Souter to accompany Lauren's note cards.
