30. Orignal Watercolour “Red Hat Ladies Rock (Seafest 2013) by Robin Knox

"The Red Hat Ladies inspire me, you seem them around town at special events having fun.  They prove life is fun at any age and being over 50 still means you can dress up!" Robin's inspiration book was Don't Sweat Guide to Retirement, sadly unavailabe, so library staff substitued Master Your Retirment: How to Fulfil Your Dreams with Peace of Mind by Douglas Nelson.

23. Funky Fabric Messenger Bag by Lou Allison

 Lou made this lined messenger bag with a reinforced shoulder strap.  The bag is roomy and includes multiple pockets inside and out for all your what nots and fiddly bits.  The fabric is fun and funky and the popular messenger bag design is is used around the world.  The bag took 15 hours to create and the material cost was $30.00. She selected The Bag Making Bible by Lisa Lam as its companion book.

27. Deluxe Barbeque Tool Set with Steak Knives and “Grilling for All Seasons" by Leslie Bruce

 This barbeque tool set is truly deluxe on so many levels: the tools, the knives, the box all make it a terrific gift for the outdoor grilling aficionado. To add to the gift is a great book Grilling for All Seasons by Rick Browne.

26. Framed Photo of 6th Street and 2nd Ave. in Early Prince Rupert by The Prince Rupert Archives

 Once again Jean from the Archives has donated a nifty photograph of Prince Rupert's past. Note the 2 horse drawn buggies and the car in the photo.  Not a whole lot of driving opportunities at that time, but the car owner get's an A plus for effort and a D minus for adding to the greenhouse effect.   Library staff chose Prince Rupert: An Illustrated History to accompany this donation.

25. Pieced and Appliqued Wall Hanging, Basket and 3 Jars of Preserves by Ellen Witherly

Ellen traveled through the NWT & Yukon this summer and she was inspired by the large fields of fireweed blooming everywhere against the bright blue sky. This took 15 (or more) hours to create. Library staff chose the book Yukon: Larger than Life, edited by Heather C. Hudak to accompany Ellen's donation.

22. Russel Mather signed print “Learning and Working Together” by Donna Morse Smith

The title says it all.  Donna has generously donated this gorgeous signed print by Tsimshian artist Russell Mather, valued at $50.00.  Library staff chose Learning by Designing by Jim Gilbert and Karin Clark as companion to this artwork.

21. Engineer's Outfit and Thomas the Tank Engine Stories by Lynne Couvillon

 For the young fan of Thomas the Tank Engine, Lynne has made a pair of overalls & bib designed to look like a steam train engineer's outfit.  She has also included a book of Thomas stories to complete the the set.  (The library also has Thomas books, like Good Night, Thomas by Tommy Stubs.) The outfit is size 12 months and will delight the little engineer in your life.

18. Dominion of Canada 25 Cent Bill by Anonymous

Every year a thoughtful anonymous donor brings us an interesting donation that takes us a step off the beaten path.  This year's offering is an interesting relic of Canada's history. Thank-you Anonymous! Library Staff chose World Paper Money by George S. Čuhaj as a companion book to this item.

17. Inspiration-on-the-Go Tote Bag by Lisa Doolan and Leah Cuthbert

Leah says “I was inspired to start this project by the day-to-day positive attitude and good cheer of my colleague and friend Lisa Doolan.  Lisa has a gift for writing poetry and a positive outlook on life that makes me smile and at times over whelm's me with admiration.  I asked Lisa to lend me her words, so that I could create a piece of work that would hopefully do them justice.” The bag is made from hand painted silk/wool yarn and took about 40 hours to design and knit. The cost of materials was $70.00  Lisa chose the book The Language of Letting Go by Melody Beattie as her inspiration.

15. Viennese Lace Tablecloth by Marcia Paterson

This lovely donation came in to the library without any details, although the description title speaks for itself.  Library staff chose the Eyewitnees Travel Guide to Vienna to go with Marcia's beautiful donation.
